In the last five years the Friends of Clatterbridge have allocated nearly £150,000 to good causes in departments and areas such as:

• Hydrotherapy pool refurbishment and essential equipment renewal
• Sensory equipment and gardens
• Christmas gifts and donations for in-patients
• Social entertainment for in-patients & staff

COOLING CAPS
A cold cap is a hat that is worn during some chemotherapy treatments. Its cooling effect reduces blood flow to the scalp, which also reduces the amount of chemotherapy medication that reaches this area. This helps to prevent hair loss.

Bladder scanners are portable ultrasound devices and can be used to measure bladder volume, including postvoid residual (PVR) volume, and provide 3-dimensional bladder images.

A dermatoscope is a hand-held imaging device doctors use to examine a person's skin, hair, or nails. It can help diagnose certain conditions because it can show extra detail.

Support infrastructure improvements making patient waiting areas more comfortable. Even social needs are fulfilled by providing regular afternoon teas and supplying radios, tuned to Radio Clatterbridge, for added enjoyment during a lengthier stay.
